1. Photography & illustration
Astronaut photograph (under-construction pages)
Source unconfirmed[ TO BE COMPLETED: the photographer and the stock library this astronaut photograph was downloaded from, plus the licence tier — the file records a professional photographer's workflow but carries no author, credit or copyright field at all ]
Files/illustrations/astronaut-opt.webp
Appears onThe default illustration on every “under construction” screen — the assignments page, and the school students and teachers pages.
LicenceNot established. No licence is asserted here because none could be verified from the file.
Embedded metadataThe master records edits in Adobe Photoshop 22.5 on macOS between 31 August and 2 September 2022, a metadata pass in Adobe Bridge 2021, a one-star rating, and camera-native pixel dimensions of 4016 × 6016 (a 24-megapixel sensor). That is a working photographer's library, in a timezone that is not ours — so this is a third party's photograph. Author, copyright, credit and source fields are all empty.
Second astronaut image (coming-soon pages)
Source unconfirmed[ TO BE COMPLETED: where this image came from and under what licence — all provenance metadata has been stripped from the file, so nothing about its origin can be recovered ]
Files/illustrations/astronaut2-opt.webp
Appears onThe two placeholder pages a logged-out visitor is shown before launch: Courses and Register.
LicenceNot established. Nothing in the file identifies an author, a library or a licence.
Embedded metadataThe master JPEG contains an embedded colour profile and nothing else — no EXIF, no IPTC, no XMP. A file stripped this clean cannot be traced from its own contents.
Nebula / starfield background
Source unconfirmed[ TO BE COMPLETED: which stock library this was downloaded from and under which licence tier — the caption below is published by several agencies at once, so the file alone cannot say which one the download came from ]
Appears onThe backdrop of the multiplayer racing game.
LicenceNot established. If it came from a free tier, a visible credit is almost certainly a condition of that licence and this entry has to be completed before launch.
Embedded metadataThe master carries an IPTC caption and a 50-word keyword list, but no author, credit, source or copyright field. The caption reads, verbatim:Space background. Realistic starry night. Cosmos and shining stars. Milky way and stardust. Color galaxy with nebula. Magic Infinite universe. Ai generative illustration. Keywords include ai generative, and the file was processed through Topaz Labs upscaling software before we ever received it. That exact caption is published under the same artwork by several stock agencies simultaneously, so identifying the caption does not identify the seller.
Book and paper mockups
Source confirmedComposed in
Canva by OLAYN ISLAMIC FOUNDATION, from Canva's stock mockup templates.
[ TO BE COMPLETED: whether the Canva plan these were exported under requires a visible credit for any element inside the three templates named below ]Files/books/books-collection.webp, /books/books-stack.webp, /books/teacher-manual.webp
Appears onThe Islamic books section of the home page.
LicenceCanva Content Licence Agreement. The source is certain; the specific terms depend on the plan the export was made under, which is the open question above.
Embedded metadataAll three masters carry Canva's attribution block and creator tool string, naming the templates “Brown and Cream Soft Book Cover Mockup Instagram Post”, “White Minimalit Wedding Mockup Intagram Post” and “Black and White Minimalist Paper Mockup Instagram Post”, exported 15 February 2026, with the author recorded as OLAYN's own founder.
2. Animation
Spaceship animation
Source unconfirmed[ TO BE COMPLETED: who made this animation and where it was downloaded from — the file's internal composition is named “Icon8”, which points at Icons8, whose free tier requires a visible link back, but that has not been confirmed ]
Appears onThe player spaceships in the multiplayer racing game.
LicenceNot established. Deliberately not named as Icons8 here: the composition name is a strong hint, not proof, and an Icons8 credit we cannot stand behind is not better than an honest blank.
Embedded metadataA Lottie/Bodymovin animation, format version 5.5.8, 500 × 500 at 60 fps, 77 layers, with intro and loop markers. The composition is named Icon8. Individual layers carry only generic After Effects names, and there is no author or licence field anywhere in the file.
3. Typefaces
Five typefaces are used, all of them open-licensed and all of them served from OLAYN's own servers rather than loaded from Google's — see our privacy notice for why that matters. Neither licence requires a visible credit for use on a web page. They are listed anyway, partly as good practice and partly because self-hosting means we are redistributing the font files, and both licences ask that their terms travel with the files.
Poppins, Inter, DM Sans and Permanent Marker
Source confirmedFilesSelf-hosted at build time, so no request for them ever leaves the visitor's browser for a third-party server.
Appears onPoppins and Inter site-wide; DM Sans across the schools pages; Permanent Marker on the under-construction screens.
LicenceSIL Open Font License 1.1. Commercial use permitted; no attribution required for use on a web page.
Roboto
Source confirmedFilesSelf-hosted at build time, alongside the four families above.
Appears onThe Google sign-in dialog, where Roboto is used to match Google's own sign-in styling.
LicenceApache License 2.0. Commercial use permitted; no attribution required for use on a web page.
4. Logos & trademarks
The Google “G” mark appears on our sign-in and registration screens. Google's logo is Google's trademark, not stock artwork, and it is reproduced solely to label the “Sign in with Google” button as Google's sign-in branding guidelines require. Its appearance does not imply that Google endorses OLAYN.
5. Artwork we made ourselves
For completeness, so that nobody has to wonder which is which — the following are OLAYN's own work and are not credited to anyone else:
- The OLAYN mosque logo and wordmark, drawn in Affinity Designer.
- All product screenshots and screen recordings — the lesson map, the course page, the teacher dashboard and the racing clip. These are pictures of our own software.
- The Arabic worksheets, writing-practice artwork, and the small decorative elements: dot patterns, star fields, orbit rings and debris shapes.
No asset on this site has been traced to Unsplash or Pexels. Had one been, neither licence requires attribution, and no credit line would appear here for it — we would say so rather than invent one.
6. Still to be confirmed
Four entries above are unfinished. Each is marked with an amber chip naming exactly what is missing, and each stays visible on this page until it is resolved. In short:
- Astronaut photograph — photographer and stock library unknown. In use on live pages today.
- Second astronaut image — all provenance stripped. In use on the two pages a logged-out visitor is most likely to reach.
- Nebula background — caption identified, seller not. Needs the original download receipt or library history to settle.
- Spaceship animation — probable but unconfirmed source; free animation licences commonly require a visible link back.
Until an entry is completed, the safe assumption is that the licence may require a credit we are not yet displaying. Anything that cannot be traced should be replaced with artwork whose licence is documented.
